Position Summary
The Industrial Engineering Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations. This role provides hands-on experience analyzing production processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency, and helping implement practical solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivity.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while contributing to meaningful operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in conducting time studies to evaluate labor efficiency and establish standard work times
• Support value stream mapping efforts on specific products to identify waste and improve flow
• Participate in evaluations of manual welding processes compared to potential robotic welding opportunities
• Help develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality
• Contribute to small-scale production improvement projects, including implementation and follow-up
• Collect, analyze, and present data to support decision-making
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to observe processes and identify improvement opportunities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus
• Interest in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial operations
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles
• Basic understanding of welding or fabrication processes
• Experience with process mapping or time studies
